Salt Lake County Libraries
For me one of the best things about moving to Salt Lake county was being able to get a Salt Lake county library card. If you live in Salt Lake county and don't have a library card you should go get one right away. With your library card you are able to check things out from all 18 Salt Lake libraries. Between all of these libraries you can find pretty much any book, movie, t.v. series, etc you can think of. The best thing about it is you can do it all online. Just go to their website and create an account. Once you have an account you can find whatever you want to check out and request to hold it. Once you request to hold something they will send it to the library of your choice to be picked up and then they will email you when it is ready. This makes is so quick and easy to just pick out anything you want online and then go in and pick it up when it is ready without having to search the shelves for anything. You can keep track of due dates and renew everything online too. Then when you are ready to return it you can take it back to any library. I have lists of kids books, books I want to read, t.v. shows and movies my husband and I want to see, and family movies for our weekly family movie night. I just go down my list and once we return some things we order more. Sometimes there is a waiting list for something but it usually doesn't take too long. It has been an easy free way to read lots of books and watch lots of movies. Another great thing about the libraries is each one has tons of fun activities for kids. On the website you can look at the calendar and choose which locations you want to look at and see all the fun things they have. They have things like story times, yoga for kids, teen hour, magic shows, playtime fun, baby and me, lego play time, puppet shows, after school club, movies, music and motion, zumba, and family game night. There are so many different fun free activities.
